1925–2005
In 1964, Dr. Anthony E. Feanny was appointed by Pope Paul VI to the Special Committee for Studies on Problems of Population and Birth Control.
An Extraordinary Appointment
A Life of Service
Dr. Anthony Elias Feanny devoted his life to medicine, family, and service. His career was defined by a deeply personal approach to patient care and by relationships that often extended across generations.
Before establishing his practice in Miami, Dr. Feanny practiced medicine in Jamaica, where he cared for families and delivered many children who would later remain connected to the Feanny family in South Florida. Remarkably, some patients of the practice today were first welcomed into the world by Dr. Feanny in Jamaica, creating a bond that has endured across countries, decades, and generations.
In 1964, Dr. Feanny was appointed by Pope Paul VI to the Special Committee for Studies on Problems of Population and Birth Control, an international group composed of physicians, scientists, clergy, and other experts. His appointment placed him among those invited to contribute to an important medical, ethical, and social discussion of the era.
After continuing his medical career in Miami, Dr. Feanny eventually welcomed his son, Dr. Elias A.M. Feanny, into practice with him at Coral Reef Medical Park II. Their years working side by side marked the beginning of a new chapter in the family's medical tradition and helped establish the foundation of the practice as it exists today.
Dr. Anthony Feanny's legacy lives on through the patients and families he cared for, the practice he helped build, and the values he passed on to his son. His commitment to compassion, personal attention, and long-term relationships with patients continues to shape the care provided today.

A Tradition of Care Across Generations
The tradition of care at our practice began with Dr. Anthony Elias Feanny, whose commitment to his patients established a lasting medical legacy in South Miami-Dade.
For many years, Dr. Feanny cared for generations of families with dedication, compassion, and a deeply personal approach to medicine. His practice at Coral Reef Medical Park became the foundation for what continues here today.
A particularly meaningful chapter began when his son, Dr. Elias A.M. Feanny, joined him in practice. Together, father and son shared not only a profession, but a commitment to caring for their community. Dr. Elias Feanny continues that tradition today, preserving the personal, family-oriented approach to medicine that began with his father.
We are proud to honor Dr. Anthony Feanny and the legacy upon which our practice was built.
